Elena is a Ukranian artist known for her playful digital art. Elena describes herself as “an art nerd who knows nothing about technologies, but wants to learn” and the proof is in her new NFT project, “Moody Beasts”.

“I’m always pushing forward, because art is a language that is always evolving. And now it is evolving into NFTs, a new medium where unknown artists can make a name for themselves and form communities around their art which wasn’t possible before,” says Elena.

Was there a pivotal moment when you decided to follow your path as an artist?

I am not sure when it started. My mom likes to joke that when I was 3 years old, she walked into my room, and saw that I was drinking water from the same cup that I was using to clean my paint brushes, and that is when I became “drunk” from art. I don’t know if this joke translates well into English, but that is what she says!

How did you come up with the idea for Moody Beasts?

I was working with an Ethereum NFT project, but by contract I can not reveal their name. A couple months later, Diana, our project manager, reached out to me with the idea of starting a project on Algorand, because they have a very engaged NFT community. She wanted to do something fresh and new – and something cute to attract more women to Algorand. I also loved that she wanted to present me as an artist, not just hide me. So she stole me from Ethereum and brought me to Algorand.

Why Algorand?

Diana is big on Algorand and she was talking about all the different advantages, like no gas fees, how fast transactions are, and other technical things I never thought about. And besides, the community is very supportive, so I became a big fan of Algorand myself.

Why the Evil vs Good theme?

I think all of us have a little bit of good and evil inside, and it’s always a battle. But we wanted to show that the battle can be fun, not a struggle, and you always have a choice. We are representing that “choice” by introducing a voting system, so each Moody Beast can be staked for a voting token that can be used by the community to decide future projects.

What do you want to say to the community?

Thank you for all of the support you are showing and lets have FUUUUN.
